Went for the NTU talk at hotel intercontinental this afternoon. well...my hopes of entering Com studies are dashed. But im gonna give it a shot anyway.
Last night was total drama. I was at bedok 85 for supper when my mom called saying there was a fire in our block and that she was gonna get the dog and herself down. The fire was on the 8th storey whereas our house was on the 15th storey. According to her the smoke was really thick. Nothing like this happened before ...so i really didn't know what to expect.
So me and my pal made our way back from 85 . I met my mom at the ground level. The entire block was evacuated. I even saw my lecturer, Mr chua, who stays on the 11th storey.
Mom said the smoke was really thick at the stairway , my smelt my dog. Her fur smelt like soot, she was shivering a little afterwards. sigh.
I guess im glad no one was hurt? But i think people are taking things for granted. Take my grand dad for example. When he knew about the fire. Instead of tryin to get outta the building. Heres what he said [ you guys can go down, im staying home to watch tv ]
Claudia said my grandpa's super slack. I couldnt agree more on that. haha like hey mister, there s a fire and ure staying home to watch tv? ?? god.........
One more thing i noted, the police men, according to my mom have no damn idea how to handle the situation? they just stood at the stairway and asked people to move down. They didn't even cover or tried to avoid to smoke. So they were inhaling it all the same. AND there was no..FIRE ENGINE in SIGHT??? .... and that was really disturbing. The next time there's a fire. I ve no darn idea..what to expect. ha....
