I couldn't help feeling tiny

The Oscars- so much better when you watch it live with a whole lot of media and industry folks! :)

Once again I was happy that my co www.party-parlour.com was the instant photos provider at Golden Village's screening of the Oscars. I bumped into a few friends which includes Nick Bloodworth who is now with Beam artist. Along with Tara Rushton, Keegan Kang and May.

The biligual radio crew, made up of Queenie, Abigail and Roger were also present and shared alittle with me about in988.com which is internet radio. Abigail even mentioned about having me talk about photography on their show. Perhaps I would explore that in the near future:). She's really sweet natured and meeting someone like her made my day and made work all the more lovely.

I'm nominated as one of 100 Most Inspiring Real Women by Cozycot to commemorate International Women's Day 2012. Thank you Sihui & Pris for this wonderful piece of news.

Has anyone tried the beauty blender? This egg shaped contoured sponge that supposedly gives you a seamless, airbrushed look when you apply foundation with it? Have I stumbled upon the holy grail of make up sponges?

I am aware beautyblender is available at Sephora for $25 and up (can't remember exactly.)

And while shopping at ALT beauty at Bugis's BHG departmental store last afternoon, I spotted a dupe. Manicare's version of the beauty blender at a mere $10.90 (not to mention there's a 20% off in store right now).

I did some research and turns out there's a really cheap version sold in the UK for 5 pounds by Cosmopolitan (Man I thought those were magazines only. They make sponges?).

wonder if I can get those in Singapore? Otherwise I might consider Sephora's beautyblender since it comes in a set with the sponge cleaner too. The cleaner doubles up as a brush cleaner for your other stuff!


Where do you shop for cosmetics in Singapore? I read the you can find cosmetics at mustafa for on the average $2 cheaper then in stores. Might be a good idea to head there?

Otherwise ALT beauty (part of BHG at Bugis) is having a storewide 20%. They've got haircare and cosmetics as well as a huge range of japanese products which I realised are stocked at Watsons too. Only that you get them 20% cheaper for now at ALT beauty (Altho I'm not sure how long this promotion would last). Yay?

As luck would have it, work takes me to interesting places quite often. And so, there I was at Majolica Majorca's Chapter 33.

It was great to meet Kailing whom I have been liasing for this event since I was supplying them with the magician who was gonna carry out their magic workshop during the blogger's engagement. And then I was pleasantly surprised to see Kanny there, turns out she's one of the ambassadors.

Oh Hello.

So I dyed my hair recently at Snip Avenue, this affordable chain of hair salons than you may find in every corner of Singapore (And thank god no pushy ah tiongs trying to convince me to do a hair treatment or something). It cost me a mere $65.80 for a L'Oreal hairdye and I chose a gold tinged blonde which I was happy with after, but I'm also itching to try out ash blonde (Maybe this July!)

I was quoted $150 the week before at some random salon in NEX for the same thing.

Having moved to Kovan recently places me well......quite comfortably within the heartlands of hougang. I'm kinda happy to have a provision shop located just beneath the block now. Not that our condo didn't have one but it was a walk across the pool and usually in the hot sun.

It is easy to miss the east but I do enjoy living it up north since I spent all my childhood and adolescent years growing up in HG and supporting The Worker's Party? For one thing, there's lots of good food here, more so than in bedok! And there's tonnes of supper places, perfect for voracious eaters like me. You'll find punggol nasi lemak, teochew porridge even at 12midnight. And in the day you have the fabulous hawker food, and dominos pizza which I'll write about later this week since Omy.sg has invited me to DOMINO's tasting event.

Because my head felt a little heavy and I am pretty sure it wasn't my brains. :( I decided on a whim to get a hair cut. I'll refrain from calling it a trim because Kason Kiu, this new stylist I read alot about online lopped up significant amounts of my crowning glory. I was pretty happy with the results - back to the old bangs or what my bf would term as "bowl" hairstyle. I requested for some layers on the side since my hair tends to be quite flat and bought a pot of hairwax. I'll test that out sometime soon and hopefully as Kason promised, I would be able to get a more voluminous look.

This is my hair before - I look like marilyn manson in this one.
(Oh the good news is I am now an owner of a ring flash. I plan to use it for my instant photography booth work but I guess it will come in handy for the blog as well)

I've 2 IPL packages for hair removal.

One at Fabulous where I go for brazillian IPL hair removal and the other at Jean Yip for underarm hair removal

At both estasblishments, I've gone for treatments 7 times each during the past half year and the effects were such contrast.

I visit the Tan Quee Lan (BUGIS) branch,
and things have been greats so far. Just some pesky fine hairs left after 7 visits.
My package here cost about 1.4K for 8 sessions including my first trial session.
Somethings I balk at how much it costs but at least the results have been fantastic and my therapist Joreen, is quite thorough and gives great service! Fabulous also helps by sending reminders to your phone a day or two before you appointment (great for forgetful fannies..pun intended). The wonderful thing is the equimpent used here doesn't require gel to be applied to your coochie. (pardon me).

This is the IPL machine used at FAB. Alot larger than what you will find at Jean Yip..



I've actually had a trial IPL session done at Strip once but swore never to do it again. Having icy cold gel squeezed all over your gluteus and fanny isn't a joke. Mostly it feels like you're sitting bare butt on an ice slab waiting for god knows what.

But at Jean Yip (Tampines), my therapist insist that there has been effects. Although my observations tell me otherwise. I am contemplating if this is a waste of my time or not but decided to give it one or two more tries. My boyfriend purchased a groupon voucher awhile back (I think this cost about $129) and entitles me to 'unlimited' underarm IPL hair removal. The catch is that the first 6 sessions are a month apart, and subsequent sessions are 2months between each.

Each time, they apply a type of gel to cool your skin and commence zapping your underarms some 4-6times per side (Sufficient? Not quite), the process then ends with a 15min cool down period with the old gel removed and colder gel placed on your underarms once again to tame the heated skin. Thereafter, a healing cream is applied and you're good to go. I am still waiting for a miracle which I hope will happen soon.

That said, I am wondering if I should consider the underarm IPL trial at Fabulous for $48. Now if only there was a groupon deal for this one hehehe

We all know being called bird brained isn't quite a compliment? Now then why do people let these cute little feathery friends pick TOTO numbers for them :)?

An acceptable answer would be that the birds are uber cute! haha
