Current Read: The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.
Oh the dissension of Art vs Nature, Aesthetics vs Ethics. And that tinge of forbidden, or stall i say a rather overt injection of homosexuality. Very very entertaining.
Now here's a quote taken from Chapter 1 -It talks about Physiognomy -which is a believe that an individual's appearance, in particular their face, reveals character.
"But beauty, real beauty, ends where an intellectual expression begins. Intellect is in itself a mode of exaggeration and destroys the harmony of any face" ...."Look at the successful men in any of the learned professions. How perfectly hideous they are!"
