While having my classic manicure done at Thumbelina the other day, a lady seated beside me was having an OPI spa done for her feet. So I asked Zoe, the Nail salon owner about this treatment.
Here she fills us in on her wonderful and apparently the most popular service at Thumbelina Nail Lounge.
OPI SPA.
Hands $55 - this includes shaping,buffing, the cuticle work done, a OPI scrub* , an OPI mask * for 15 mins and an OPI massage cream * and nail polish colour
Feet - $85 shaping, buffing , cuticle work , Callus treatment ( 10-15 min ) with the callus eliminator solution which softens callus before we file it, foot filing , OPI scrub *, OPI mask * ( 15 min ) , OPI massage cream and nail polish colour

During treatment by more of the less smiley employees Strip has....bah. I guess that's ok.I've been threading my brows for years and it always amazes me how hair can be removed with just thread?
So anyway, from my experience , threading doesn't have to be painful! It could be quite mild and it really differs from therapist to therapist. And this , you can only tell with time.
Post treatment- with rather red skin - typical for someone like me who has sensitive skin.I'm told it's gonna take me awhile to 'equalize ' my brows because my brow treading therapist at little india had not only removed too much hair previously, she also made them a little uneven. Sigh.
So yes that's me with asymmetrical eye brows. Let's see how keeping up with my appointments at Browhaus goes :)

OPI really knows the 80s kiddos
It's really nice to see how these childhood icons of mine are classics today, and that they're always always being reinvented along the way by various brands.
OPI is one of these brands that always has something up its sleeves, The Muppets collection, Katy Perry... and now Minnie and Spiderman. Awww. They really know how to engage all their audiences. :)
It's quite heartening too as I noticed kids these days still love to have icons such as Mickey, Minnie and superheroes such as Batman and Spiderman painted on them! When I am out on face painting or bodyart assignments, it's not hard to see that even with new cartoons like like Ben10, Thomas the train and so on. Kids really do love all the old super heroes too. :)

Thumbelina Nail Lounge
Zoe Teh, not only has a name reminiscent of a local TV starlet, she's also the owner of Thumbelina Nail Lounge. Located in the heart of Bukit Timah, Thumbelina is a new concept nail lounge that aims to bring pampering to a different level, what this Nail Salon spots are not only you OPI pamperings, but alot works of art, decor pieces which you can purchase (much like in a quaint antique store ala Paris).In her own words' Zoe tells us why she chose to open a Nail Lounge and what we can expect, "I'm a beauty nut myself and I wanted to do something a little different mixing lifestyle with beauty hence I decided to fuse art, desserts and beauty all in one ."

I chose the classic manicure in OPI's Dulce De Leche in preparation from a friend's wedding. No more gelish for at least 2 months since my fingers has taken quite a beating from all the enhancements throughout the past months.
Yuna was the manicurist who tended to me and she quite quickly was able to remove my Blinged out Chanel gelish which I had on.
This was quite alot of work that only an experienced manicurist could accomplish fast without hurting your nails. Considering I had crystals on every finger, and a chanel embellishment on top of that, as well as an acrylic overlay and a single extension on my index finger since my nail broke previously, Yuna was not only quick and gentle too! thanks my dear.

Cupcakes in an array of flavours like guinness and orangepurchased from nearby Five and Dime (who happens to be a business own by a friend) and Plain Vanilla eateries daily are available , and ginger or green tea is served free, but you can also opt for Earl Grey or peppermint teas at $3.80 a pot. I spotted some boxes of Gryphon tea :) so I could only assume the tea served is from The Gryphon tea company.
Sure beats TWG which I personally find to be over-rated. But which you find is stocked amply in my house thanks to Mother Dearest haha.

Sometimes I wished I was wendy in peter pan, or alice in wonderland. I'm a huge burton and depp fan, and I reckon the only anti-aging methodology is to have dreams, gun for them, and believe that disneyland is still the happiest place on earth.
