shakespeare in love
Such luxuries of time, I can Ill afford. However, this long weekend, I finally picked up my dad's complete illustrated shakespeare" once again. Thus completing Hamlet, Twelfth Night and The Midsummer night's dream.
My favourite thus far is Twelfth Night. It's interesting to note how "Feste" the fool/jester oft seems to be the cleverest in the room, throwing out Syllogism and more.
notable quotes from Twelfth night are
1)Orsino "If music be the food of love, play on."
2)Olivia "Love sought is good, but giv'n unsought is better "
3)Feste the clown
CLOWN Good madonna, why mourn'st thou?
OLIVIA Good Fool, for my brother's death.
CLOWN I think his soul is in hell, madonna.
OLIVIA I know his soul is in heaven, fool.
CLOWN The more fool, madonna, to mourn for your
brother's soul, being in heaven. Take away the fool,
gentlemen.
My favourite model of all time.
dress me up

I love this! the white one of course. :)

This new year

Let's talk about resolutions!
religion
Sometimes, Im just appalled at how people spin money out of religion....or how a religious group turns into a consumer group..... Taken from http://www.boingboing.net/2008/06/16/talking-doll-establi.html
Talking doll establishes "direct connection with Jesus" says commercial
Posted by Mark Frauenfelder, June 16, 2008 3:14 PM | permalink
"Order your Talking Jesus Doll now for only $19.99. Don't miss this opportunity for your child to experience a direct connection with Jesus and the scriptures."
The Talking Jesus Doll is a religious treasure that recites key verses from the Bible aloud. Just press the button and the Talking Jesus Doll speaks to your child. It’s a great way to create a personal connection between God’s word and your child.
Now, I have a conservative take on Religion. I like religion to be pure and simple. No business influences...no pop star pastors..no investing with the funds whatsoever. And definitely no Jesus action figures. thanks

Alethea thinks Xmas is a sneaky bastard.
To those who will receive Xmas cards from me this year. Lucky you. Those those who receive more than a card in the envelope, im sure you're gonna have fun at it :)
After writing 14 cards and with plenty more to go, it's no surprise im in a nostalgic and 'shit , its 12:52am and i-need-to-sleep now kinda mood'.
well in some ways xmas came early for me, with Victoria Secrets and Bath and body works from my cousins! Thanks Jie!
I miss a couple of people and places.thank goodness some of you are coming back! some 12 months ago, on the 25th of Dec, I was on board a flight to new york..., on my way to witnesses a marriage proposal at the rink @ rockerfeller. On my way to the crazy sales at victoria secrets, to the trinity church, the MET museum..
these are as distant as memories now.
On other notes, Zoukout happens next week! So i'll be on that little island straight from sat thru sunday, thank God for Hotel rooms!
Trome L'oeil 1

God in the machine
Ipod, check. PSP. Check. Pringles, Kitkat, Check. Soccer balls, Check. Cds, check. Underwear, Check. Eggs?....Well, these days. Vending machines don't fall short do they. The Japanese come out tops with the most novel products and innovative machines. Think robots, err Porn? and everything from organic eggs to cup noodles. They even have a version of human vending machines *chuckles*

Vendor me success.
Aren't you glad yet!

things to liven office lifers up
Pig out !
Ok, if there's something to cheer about. I'm staring to see the Ka-chings in my nuffnang account. *grin* Oh yes, and I'm looking forward to let my hair down on the upcoming Zoukout! Heck, theres' Nouvelle Vague -I missed out on their last performance at zouk last year and no, History must not repeat itself!
I must have spent a good half hour deliberating and going thru the notions of life's ironies.
I know I should be content, I know I shouldnt bite off more than I can chew, yet I can't help it sometimes. Yes I've been blessed in aspects such as academia, jobs and more. But Love. Can I even talk about that. Love is a secret garden of sorts. Only that I've lost/tossed the keys.
serve me a dose of amnesia ..somebody.
And, to refrain from publicizing the trivial details about my life. Here's a post about work.
The Advertising line is a volatile industry. One that cites long hours, irregular meals, the intricate idiosyncrasies of very interesting ad men and women.Staff turnover rates happen to beat every other industry, however it involves groups of very eligible people playing ping pong. (ideally, jumping from one firm to another).
Advertising people dictate the rules as much as they love breaking them. The same thing that pushes people away is the same thing that keeps them coming back. Much like love.
Which is why we have the def leppard song - when love and hate collides.
As much as I hate the irregular meals that oh so often gives me a tummy wreaked by indigestion, I love how we- live to give life to IDEAS.
Here's how i get my ideas (both the bad and good) or at least how I try to get them.
1)Look out the window
2)If there ain't no windows- stare into space
3)ponder till its 15mins to my deadline. At the last 2mins, a good idea should come.
4)If it doesn't. Apparent here's the part I realised I'm screwed.
5)youtube..im sorry
6)Browse archives magazines
7)peer at my account executive's face
8)Listen to incubus -because thats' how I got one of my ideas which apparently the client was realli receptive to.
9)If i had the luxury of time, usually a nap or going to bed works. I'll wake with an idea in my head.
10)review this list to figure what's gonna work best.
The end.
back to my trivial musings on life.
My Bangkok trip has been postponed till Jan/Feb.
I guess from now till then, I'll be reading up on thai phrases to help me with my language. I'll be back with my bucket list on the next post. So stay tuned.
I could use a new beginning...
For some reason, my long weekend has turned to bouts of debauchery with heavy notes of alcohol. I am probably most in need of a detox regiment, cant' eat well. Can sleep really well. *laughs*So here I am, promising to swear off alcohol for the rest of the month. This weekend was an emo one, in a bid to save my fledging spirits...
I turn to the songs by switchfoot...
Speaking of which I have to confess that I do not understand myself.I mean like why the hell am i the least intrigued by even very eligible guys. It's as if they all lack chemical X. Well if anyone did caught my attention, it wasn't enough. My bestest guy pal said I am 'easily bored', and he wants to know if i still have my criteria of 'my perfect guy', I told him I was so over that, because what you want isn't what you get.
And like how History just loves to repeat itself, I met this really cute guy over the weekend, lo and behold he just had to be 'not local'. So there on a jet plane he goes, back to the land of smiles...
Man, september's over and boy am I still fast asleep..Someone needs to wake me up.
songs for a rainy day ..
can't get the video on so heres the link : )http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQO7IUrqXqY
Get your ass, or should i say feet onto the 2.5km trail. You will not regret. For foodies, head to KHA (the thai restaurant in hort park), try their duck drumstick dish. It's fabulous, even with parsley thrown in! Hey I know how you hate parsley, I hate it too, but it was soo good paired with the duck..
on a different note, I've completed Season 1 of Gossip Girls much to my own surprise, I hope I'll complete season 2, because when I didnt actually get that far when it came to HEROES..., the results were fateful. Do I really have such a short attention span? Maybe only, when it comes to guys.
Oh well, I do kid......

Hooked.
Alas, work has rendered my social life zero, the evidence : Clocking 9 episodes of GOSSIP GIRL in a Friday. Hey, if you think upper east side drama is reserved for the girls? My guyfriends load up on these too.oh and I even taking a little haitus from halloween this year. Better of having pineapple malibu by the pool with the BFF.
I leave you with some pictures from L'Officiel.
Yes, I might have downed 6 glasses of champagne or so... but heck it was a Thursday. Im afraid the champagne coated numbers escalates as the day draws near the weekend. My only grouse was that like it or not. Friday's a working day and I can't afford a hang over.

Because laughter's the best medicine.
so...go ahead. Yearbookyourself. :)

Sometimes I wished I was wendy in peter pan, or alice in wonderland. I'm a huge burton and depp fan, and I reckon the only anti-aging methodology is to have dreams, gun for them, and believe that disneyland is still the happiest place on earth.
